Ferizaj as a city is new, but the villages around it have been inhabited since ancient times and there are many evidences and findings for this. Many researches have been conducted from time to time, such as in Varosh, Komoglave, Jezerc, Neredime and other places, and archaeologists and ethnographers have said that the surroundings of Ferizaj have a great potential of valuable objects since antiquity.
There are several locations that are part of the cultural heritage, among which the Dardane Church in the mountains among the villages of Komoglave, Sojeve and Fshat i Vjeter, the Illyrian-Roman aqueduct in the village of Komoglavë, which supplies drinking water even today to several families, the Illyrian mounds (cemetery) in the village of Varosh, the mill of Nika, still in operation, since 1321, and the remains of the old town in Jezerc, ruins in Neredime, etc.
